Whips win their debut 5-0 over Cartwright!

Game 1 is in the books and what a debut we had. 22 year old rookie Travis Friesen got the start on the mound and pitched 5 innings, giving up 2 hits and striking out 9 Cartwright batters. His dad, 50 yr old Abe Friesen, made his baseball debut following Travis and threw 2 innings, giving up only 1 hit and striking out 1. He followed that up in his first ever at-bat in a baseball game singling up the middle. Offensively, the Whips were led by Josh Ginter who singled 3 times, stole a base and scored 1 run, and Bill Fehr who doubled and walked twice, also scoring a run. The next game for the Whips will be against the 3-time defending Border Baseball League Champion Morden Mohawks. Game time is 7:00 on Monday. We hope to see you all there!
